This can include a large variety of items that you could give to any roommate, as they aren’t very Disney-specific. I’m talking candles, chapstick, nail polish, small plants, facemasks, candles, candy, food, socks, mugs, gum, gift cards, bandaids. If you’re going into this thing completely random, or maybe you’re just a little anxious that you’ll be getting some additions to your group, these are great! They are easy to find, require little to no effort, are great on the fly, and don’t break the bank.

DONE - Personalized DIY Autograph books - use an artist sketch pad for thicker pages that Sharpie ink won't bleed through.

You can find a super cute tshirt on Etsy here. The above listings are based only on either Seller's listing information or Etsy marketplace data. If you’d rather buy them (I don’t blame you) check out this Etsy shop here. My name is Megan and I'm a 24 year old navigating post-grad life in Orlando, Florida. I'm obsessed with all things coffee, particularly caramel macchiatos, and I love all things pink, sparkly, and Disney.

Many sellers on Etsy offer personalized, made-to-order items. Key chains are a cute and subtle gifts that are super easy to make and don’t exactly scream Disney. Of all the gifts, this is by far the easiest to make on your own, but they are also the cheapest to buy online.

It could be something that incorporates your roommate's favorite Disney things. It could be something vintage from the parks that is no longer sold anymore. It could be something that your roommate could use while on their program that they might not necessarily think of bringing (I've seen roommate gift vlogs where the roommates got a sign to hang on their door to say whether they were in the apartment or out).

Don’t be afraid to Pinterest some ideas and Disney quotes. For a DIY canvas tutorial for beginners, click here. If you’re not the craftiest and what to buy them instead, go for it! You can find a great Etsy shop for Disney key chains here. F you are not the craftiest, there are also a ton of places to buy them. However, this is not going to be your cheapest option.
This is probably the most expensive item on the list, both to make and to buy, but you’re going to be spending a LOT of time in the parks. I tried this before my program started and it did not turn out as well as I had hoped, but I think it would have gotten better if I would have been more persistent. If you’re interested in trying it yourself, you can find a tutorial here. Another gift you can buy online or make yourself! The best thing about mugs is if you mess up or it doesn’t turn out exactly how you want it, it is still functional and it will still be used! I don’t drink coffee often at all, but I still have a pretty extensive collection of mugs.
While everyone loves receiving gifts and sometimes we don't want to give something if we're not getting anything in return, I'm here to tell you that giving gifts without expectations is something you should still consider. In my opinion, a roommate gift doesn't have to be big or elaborate or expensive to be magical. Instead as long as it is unique and meaningful it can be a magical gift. That description gives a lot of wiggle room for what goes into a magical gift.
I should also probably note that this idea can also apply to wine glasses if you live in a wellness apartment. (I am not sure if you can have wine glasses in non-wellness.) And again, this is something that can be as elaborate or as simple as you want to make it. For designing a mug for beginners, click here. This is one that you will probably have to make yourself. These can range in difficulty, but you should always do what you are most comfortable with! It may take some trial and error, but making canvases can be super easy and arguably your cheapest option.

Roommate gifts are the unofficial official tradition of the DCP. While this can be a little bit difficult to coordinate considering you don’t exactly know who all you’re living with until you show up, roommate gifts are a nice icebreaker that can start your program off on the right foot. Here are my suggestions for some easy and super affordable gifts to snag for your roomies. Besides, the best part about giving a gift unexpectedly and without expecting anything in return is getting to see the other person's reaction. So if you're going random or haven't discussed roommate gifts with your future roommates consider still doing something that shows you're excited about living together. If you don't have roommate gifts pre-planned with all your roommates, should you still get them something?
